Material selection points
Select the right material combination based on load, environment and budget:
Material type | Advantages | Disadvantages | Applicable scenarios |
Polyurethane (PU) | strong wear resistance, light weight, quiet | bearing limit is low (generally ≤200kg) | Light to medium-sized industrial equipment |
Nylon (PA) | high rigidity, corrosion resistance, impact resistance | poor temperature resistance (high temperature deformation) | chemical, food processing equipment |
Rubber (Natural/synthetic) | Good elasticity, shock absorption buffer | Limited load bearing capacity (suitable for training wheels) | Special equipment damping requirements |
Steel wheels + rubber tires | Extremely high load (up to several tons),Wear-resistant | big weight, Poor mobility | Heavy machine tools, construction machinery |
Aluminium alloy | Lightweight and corrosion resistant | Higher cost | High-precision instruments, light and heavy equipment |
Stainless steel | Corrosion-resistant, explosion-proof | Extremely high cost |
The definition of heavy casters, usually refers to the carrying capacity of more than 50kg casters, often used in industrial or heavy equipment.
Application scenarios mainly focus on heavy-duty scenarios. Places such as factory equipment, warehouse logistics, and construction sites may require larger casters. Then in terms of material selection, different rubber types have been mentioned before, but heavy duty may require stronger materials such as polyurethane, nylon or metal.
Durability, cost effectiveness or special environmental adaptability (e.g. corrosion resistance, high temperature resistance). Some details may need to be added, such as metal wheels, which are heavy but heavy, are not suitable for equipment that needs to be moved flexibly. The polyurethane wheel is lightweight and wear-resistant, which is suitable for the scene of high frequency movement.
In addition, for environmental conditions, different situations need to be considered, for example, polyurethane or stainless steel is recommended in humid environments, while heat resistance is considered in high temperature environments.
