Plastic furniture legs that imitate the texture of materials can achieve the simulation of the texture of wood, metal, stone, etc. through various processes. The following is a detailed analysis of the specific processes, principles and effects:

I. Surface printing process

Principle: Texture patterns are formed on the surface of plastics through ink printing technology.

Gravure printing: Texture patterns are engraved in the pits of the printing plate, and after the ink is filled, they are transferred to the surface of plastic. It is suitable for mass production of simple wood grain, stone grain and other regular textures.

Heat transfer printing: By using high temperature, a transfer film with printed textures is adhered to the surface of plastic. The texture is highly clear and can simulate metal wire drawing, leather grain, etc. It has a low cost and a mature process (such as the common plastic feet imitating oak grain).

Effect: The texture is uniform, but the three-dimensional effect is relatively weak. It is suitable for scenarios where the texture requirements are not high (such as the legs of ordinary household sofas).

2. Injection molding texture process

Principle: Texture is processed on the surface of the injection mold. When the plastic melts and fills the mold, the concave and convex texture is naturally formed.

Mold etching: Through chemical corrosion or laser engraving, grooves with wood or stone grain are formed on the mold surface. After injection molding, the surface of the plastic foot directly presents a three-dimensional texture (such as the concave and convex feeling imitating rough stone).

Two-color injection molding: By using two different colored plastics and through layer-by-layer injection molding, a gradient effect similar to wood growth rings and metal oxide layers is formed (such as the mottled texture of plastic feet imitating bronze color).

Effect: Strong three-dimensional texture, wear-resistant and durable, suitable for high-end furniture legs (such as coffee table legs with imitation walnut wood texture).
